
Community members are invited to come celebrate the Grand Reopening of Martin Library from July 11 – 17. The celebration kicks off at 9am Monday, July 11 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the library’s Market Street entrance. Tours of the reimagined and newly renovated library will be available starting at 10am. Programs are planned throughout the week, and everything wraps up with a family-friendly block party from 12:30pm – 3pm Sunday, July 17. Check out what’s happening below and join the celebration!

Monday, July 11

Tuesday, July 12
10am – 5pm Self-Guided Tours
Learn about the history and vision of Martin Library through a self-guided tour of the newly renovated building. Go to the library’s new Help Desk to get started.
2pm – 4pm Teen Create
Students aged 13-18 are invited to participate in a collaborative art project in the new Teens area on the second floor.

12:00 p.m. History of Martin Library with Paula Gilbert
Join Paula Gilbert, former Youth Services Director and YCL employee for over 35 years, as she shares the history of Martin Library in the Quiet Reading Room.
Thursday, July 14
10am Kids and Family: Luis Garay World Percussion
Come see our newly renovated Family Place and watch the live stream of Luis Garay World Percussion on our three large screens. Luis will share his blend of South American, Caribbean, and African rhythms.
Friday, July 15
10am- 12pm Self-Guided Tours

We’re closing down Queen Street for our Grand Reopening Block Party! There will be library tours, music, games, food trucks, and fun activities for the kids.
