Real Library Stories

A Place of Solace: One Family's Story

"The library was a calming place of solace for our family. Before we adopted our beautiful daughters, during visitation we would go to the library. Many hours were spent in Martin Library. The foster system can be very draining mentally and emotionally and it was nice to have a calm escape sometimes, just to get lost in a good book to unwind. I felt that the library kept me grounded a lot during some very stressful times. Then after we picked the girls back up, we would take them to enjoy what the library offers them as well. Now, we tend to go to Village Library in Jacobus to get books and spend quality time as a family."
