BookFLIX

BookFLIX (geared for ages 4-10) pairs a fiction title with a related nonfiction book to help children connect the stories they enjoy with the facts behind them, building a love for reading and learning. Children can read aloud with the large print, listen along to an audiobook narrator, or watch the book as an animation. They can test their understanding with fun interactive games and questions.

Inspired children can use the built-in kid-safe links to learn more about the subject or authors. Parents and educators will love that each pair of books comes with a pre-made lesson plan to explore the topic, as well as an easy link to find more educational resources and tools.

Many books are offered in Spanish as well as English, and the search tool allows you to sort by topic, length of book, and more.

TrueFLIX

TrueFLIX (geared for ages 8-12) offers young scholars the opportunity to explore topics in depth. A short video introduces a topic, which is paired with a book that goes deeper into the subject. Students are offered activities and experiments to try, discussion questions, and fun games to test their knowledge. Some books offer an audio option, but the focus is on building learning and reading skills. Kid-safe links allow the child to explore a topic on the Internet and select short scholarly articles. Topics are linked together to keep a child interested and learning.

Subjects include People, Places, History, Science, and Nature. As with BooxFLIX, educators and parents will love the customized lesson plans that accompany each topic, as well as being able to search by subject, Lexile level, and ATOS readability score.
