2023 PA Taxes can be filed at the same time as your Federal taxes by using the free eFile service.  Learn about eFile here.

PA tax returns are due by midnight, April 15, 2024.

• 2023 PA-40 Form & Instructions
• 2023 PA-1000 Property Tax/Rent Rebate Form & Instructions
  • Rent Rebate Forms must be postmarked by June 30, 2024
• File PA taxes online for free using MyPath at mypath.pa.gov. Registration with email and phone number is required.
  • You can use MyPath to file rent rebates online as well

Be sure to bring along a valid photo ID and proof of Social Security/ITIN number for anyone on the tax return, including dependents. If you want direct deposit of any refunds or payments, bring a voided bank check. Bringing last year’s tax return may help, also!

AARP Tax-Aide volunteers can prepare most personal income tax returns, including those with basic self-employment income. They are not trained to do business returns such as corporate, partnership, limited partnership, farm income, or rental income.

VITA is a program that offers free tax help to families of 2 or more people who make $60,000 or less (individual limit is $45,000 or less) in the last tax year; those with disabilities; or those who are limited speaking in the English language. The Volunteers at VITA provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to those individuals who qualify.

In 2024, Martin Library is proud to be a VITA location. If you are assigned to Martin Library, make your way to Martin Library’s Children’s Room. Check in with the VITA greeter. Staff will assist you in making your way to the assigned room.
