Friends of the Library

Friends support our libraries

Across the county, several libraries have volunteer Friends Groups who serve as key advocates for both the library and their communities. These volunteers work hard to ensure that the library can continue to host programs, keep the building well-equipped, and remain an integral part of each library’s York County community.

What do Friends of the Library do?

  • Promote community support and use of the library
  • Inform members and the community about issues affecting libraries
  • Sponsor special events and provide program funding
  • Raise funds for supplemental materials, programs, or equipment
  • Help support literacy projects, funding and advocacy

Friends help us keep our doors open!
