The Library Assistant will provide assistance to a diverse population of customers in using library resources. Assistance is given to customers in person, via phone, and via email. These resources include, but are not limited to: printed materials, digital media, online databases, internet searches, faxing, copying, and printing. The Library Assistant will also assist in the day-to-day functions of the Information Services department – checking in/out materials, shelving books, opening/closing duties, creating/updating patron records, etc.

The Literacy Interventionist works with k- 3 grade students in small groups or one-on-one to improve their reading, writing and math skills.  The goal is to help those struggling below their grade level to increase their literacy to grade level or above.

Summer Marketing Intern – Unpaid

York- Martin Library

York County Libraries is seeking a marketing intern for the summer semester.  This position will help execute our strategic marketing plan with an emphasis on implementing digital marketing strategies across our website, social media and email marketing channels.  The intern will have opportunities to engage in brand journalism, producing relevant content packages that include original text, images and video elements. In addition, the intern is able to gain hands-on experience planning digital engagement tactics (both organic and paid) and measuring their impact across selected channels including: Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram.

The unpaid Marketing Intern will be mentored by Lora-Lynn Kahler, MLS, MBA, Director of Marketing and Communication.  The internship offers a flexible schedule M-F between the hours of 9 and 5 for a minimum of 120 hours over the three-month arrangement.
