Paul Smith Library of Southern York County

The Gem of New Freedom & Shrewsbury

Due to the Pandemic, some of our library services are not currently available. Please visit our COVID-19 Reopening page for details.

Paul Smith Library, a “green” LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified building, is conveniently located adjacent to the Shrewsbury YMCA. Our friendly staff and volunteers are here to assist you and your family! Engage in our community through book clubs, book sales, and events such as Truck Zoo and Designer Bag Bingo. Our innovative early childhood activities are designed to meet state educational standards. Enjoy our collection of materials designed to educate, entertain, and inspire. Access the world using our computers or bring your own and enjoy free high-speed internet. Come visit us!

We're Open for Browsing & Porch Pickup

Come visit us and refresh your reading supply! Rather than our traditional “sit and read” library setting, it is a renewed “browse and go” experience. This is part of our current reopening phase and the extra measures we’re taking to provide you with a safe and healthy library environment.
