Because access equals opportunity…
While we have a wide variety of unique programs and events designed for families and kids, York County Libraries proudly offer adult-specific programs and groups as well! From career help, to small hobby groups, you will be sure to find something of interest to you, while also getting involved in the community around you.
Programs and Resources for Adults
With job and career prep sessions, as well as research/information centers in various libraries, our friendly staff and volunteers are more than willing to help you along your journey of applying for your next job.
Book discussion groups are one of the easiest ways to get involved in your library. With monthly, weekly, and bi-weekly meetings, there is always a new book up for discussion! Additionally, some libraries even have genre-themed discussion groups with a more concise selection of books geared to your interests!
Check the events calendar for Book Discussion Group meetings across the county.
Hobby & Support Groups
From knitting to day planning, York County Libraries offers a wide variety of unique groups with your hobbies in mind. Join other like-minded individuals for a fun, relaxed hour of learning or socializing.
We also have a variety of support groups dedicated to creating a safe environment for sharing your concerns and questions on various topics.
Each one of our libraries has access to computers, printers, and many other technological devices. While some individuals may feel comfortable using these resources, we provide a TechTime service for those that may need assistance not only with the resources we provide, but also with your own technology. Some items that we have assisted visitors with include: smartphones, tablets, e-readers, and laptops.
TechTime Power Sessions will be offered monthly at Martin Library from 10:30AM-12:00PM on a Saturday. These power sessions will provide further instruction on various topics related to technology use. Please check the YCL calendar for the specific date and topics. Registration is online or call Information Services at 717-849-6927.
