York County Libraries invites teens across the county to join the YCL Discord server!
While our libraries provide in-person options for teens to hang out and socialize, the Teen Discord is an online platform for teens across York County to connect online.
What is Discord?
Discord is a digital platform for creating communities based on anything from video gaming to education to business administration. Organizations like YCL can establish their own “server,” and the server can be organized into different interest areas (called channels). Once a server is set up, users are added to the server via invitation. Teens 13-18 with a YCL card can fill our the form below to get their invitation.
How will the Teens use Discord?
Staff work hard to create a safe space where teens can be themselves and to help them pursue new interests and hobbies. We will also be focusing on giving teens leadership opportunities. We encourage respectful self-expression, discussion ideas, and engagement! There are channels for writing, D&D, gaming, and more. Come find something new!
The Discord Server is Open:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Wednesday: 3:00 PM- 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Join the Teen Discord!
- Fill out the Teen Discord Application below.
- A library card is needed to complete the form. If you forgot your card number, there is a section of the form designated for library card recovery.
- Teen Forum Staff will then email the Discord invitation or library card information to you.
- After receiving the invitation link, you can then join any “channels” of our Discord server that interest you.
- Channels help with organizing chat, voice, and video discussions based on topic, program, or interest area!
- We look forward to seeing the programs and events you join on our Discord!
