Volunteer Spotlight: Bill

Bill Williams

Bill grew up in Syracuse, NY and studied Computer Science at Union College in Schenectady. He spent his career running the computer center and teaching at Union College, then managing medical computer systems at Chart, Inc. in Albany.

A resident of Mechanicsburg for 20 years, Bill is the father of four children and has eight grandchildren. He volunteered at the Dillsburg Library’s Baltimore St. location for ten years and has recently resumed volunteering regularly on Tuesday afternoons. In addition to his service at the library, Bill also volunteers with Hospice of Central Pennsylvania.  His favorite part of volunteering is meeting library patrons and watching kids enjoy the library’s children’s room. He enjoys reading and highly recommends reading his favorite, Trinity by Leon Uris.

There are lots of volunteer opportunities at the library! Whether you staff the front desk or work behind the scenes, volunteering at the library is a great way to meet new people and give back to your community. Stop by for a volunteer application today!
