Jordan Richardson Reading Garden Project

The Dillsburg Area Public Library Reading Garden project has started construction! We are very excited for this project and the enhancements it will bring for our patrons. The Garden will be located in front of the library building and will highlight a water feature, seating areas, a statue and areas for children and adult planned programs to be held.

This project is in memory of Jordan Richardson, late son of John and Lisa Richardson.  Jordan always could be found with a book in his hands.  “Our family holds this Reading Garden close to our hearts as a project of love and remembrance of Jordan.” says Jordon’s mother Lisa. “It’s humbling for us to honor his memory in this way and for it to be an everlasting contribution to the Library and community. We look forward to seeing children and adults enjoying it as a quiet place to relax with a book, a reading device, to gather with a friend, or participate in planned activities. We feel this beautiful garden is a direct reflection of his passion for reading and his love of being outdoors.  We know he would be pleased with the results.”

Original memorial contributions are earmarked for this project but additional funds are still needed to complete the project. If you would like to make a financial donation online, donations are gratefully accepted at https://donate.yorklibraries.org. Select Dillsburg Area Public Library and Reading Garden Project. We appreciate any and all support!

Construction should take approximately 4 weeks, barring any weather related delays. Please bear with us during construction and any temporary inconveniences it may cause. Stay tuned to our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/dillsburgareapubliclibrary) for updates on the project.
