Volunteer Spotlight: Ed

Ed Sprenkle

Ed is a retired Northern High School history and physical sciences teacher. Many of our patrons recognize his voice from his years of doing the PA announcements at Northern sporting events. He is also a retired reference librarian, having worked with students and faculty at HACC-Gettysburg and York College.

He grew up in Waynesboro, PA and graduated from Shippensburg University and Clarion University. He has resided in Dillsburg for 27 years. He likes the small-town atmosphere and its friendly residents, but he also appreciates Dillsburg’s proximity to Hershey Bears and Washington Capitals hockey games!

Ed has been a Dillsburg Public Library volunteer for 16 years. He enjoys helping patrons find what they’re looking for, whether its the answer to a reference question or a book, DVD or audiobook they want to borrow.

There are lots of volunteer opportunities at the library! Whether you staff the front desk or work behind the scenes, volunteering at the library is a great way to meet new people and give back to your community. Stop by for a volunteer application today!
