Volunteer Spotlight: Sherry

One of our newest volunteers, Sherry Lipka has volunteered at the Dillsburg Area Public Library for nine months. She grew up in Kingston, PA near Scranton. She is a graduate of Bishop O’Reilley High School and the College of Misericordia. She works as an Investment Assistant for the Financial Advisor Services at Members First Federal Credit Union.

She has lived in Dillsburg for a year and a half with her husband and her chihuahua. What she likes best about living here is the sense of community and how close it is to her extended family in Kingston. Her favorite thing about volunteering at the library is interacting with the library staff and patrons and seeing people from the community at the library. Her favorite book is Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. One thing most people don’t know about Sherry is her age (it’s a secret!!!).

There are lots of volunteer opportunities at the library! Whether you staff the front desk or work behind the scenes, volunteering at the library is a great way to meet new people and give back to your community. Stop by for a volunteer application today!
