Always looking for a few good Friends!

Earlier this year, the Dillsburg Area Public Library relaunched a Friends of the Library group. The goal of the Friends is to assist the library in raising money for operations. The Friends’ primary fundraisers are book sales in the spring and fall. The spring book sale takes place in the week before Picklefest in May and any funds raised are used to support the Summer Reading program. The fall sale is held during the annual and ever-popular Farmer’s Fair in October. Any funds raised during the fall support general library operations. Both sales take place at the library on Mumper Lane.

Books can be donated to the library during designated times leading up to each sale. The Friends then sort items into categories for the sale. Children’s and teen books are $.50 each or 3 for $1.00. Adult books are $1.50 each or 3 for $5.00.

The Friends are always looking for new members. For more information, please call the library at 717-432-5613. The Friends of the Library meet at the library on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm (no meeting June and July).
