Join Maria V. Snyder, author of Poison Study, the 2018 One Book, One Community selection as she engages you on her writing, her characters, and what she feels are the most poignant parts of her book. In addition, put yourself in the shoes of Yelena as Maria Snyder conducts a “poison tasting” after her discussion.   Books and other materials are available at each library. You are invited to attend A Celebration of Poetry.  Students from across York County will share their original poems at Martin Library's 29th Annual Poetry Contest Celebration. Poems have been read and judged by local authors and poets. The winners in each age group will be announced this evening. Sit back and enjoy an evening of  prize-winning poetry shared with you by the poets themselves. Help us to celebrate the talent of York County students. Family and friends are welcome.

The Hex Murders and Trials

The Hex Murders are considered York County's "Crime of the Century". In an attempt to break a spell they believed Nelson Rehmeyer to be under, John Blymer, Wilber Hess, and John Curry murdered him and left his body in his farmhouse in Reheymer's Hollow in Stewartstown. The crime shook York County and leaves a lasting impression in the 21st century.  Jim McClure, author, historian, editor of the York Daily Record will present on this historic event and its lasting legacy.
