The annual “Food for Fines” program was held throughout the month of May at each of the York County Libraries’ locations. The “Food for Fines” program allows library members to reduce outstanding late fines by $1.00 for each non-perishable food item donated. Our Kreutz Creek Library members donated 136 food items, which, in turn, were donated to the Eastern York Food Pantry in Wrightsville. What better way to reduce fines on a library account while at the same time helping families in need? Our community members exceeded expectations with many donating food, not because fines were owed, but rather to support our library’s efforts to contribute to our local food bank.
