Q&A With Jennifer Rabenstein
What is the source of your inspiration?
I love working with color, and how different colors create different feelings.
How would you describe your art?
I would describe my art about the same as I would describe myself. Unique, colorful, and full of inspirational energy!
What do you enjoy most about creating new art?
The process! Creating art is a process, sometimes flowing, other times full of challenges and frustrations. Much like life itself. I enjoy surrendering to the flow of creating.
How do you start new work? Is your process always the same? If not, how does it change?
Sometimes I feel a calling, sometimes I have an image, sometimes I have a specific request to work off of.
Do you have a favorite or “go to” technique when starting a work?
Just to clear my mind of expectations.
Do you have a favorite medium? Has your preference changed over the years?
I do stained glass, painting, henna… I love mixing things up and blending them when I can.
Do you ever experience a creative block? If so, how do you rejuvenate your creativity?
Music is really helpful when I feel stuck. Also movement and nature.
Do you have a favorite/inspirational quote?
Worrying is a waste of imagination!
Do you have any current or future projects you’d like to share?
I blend art into creative healing experiences!
If someone is interested in your work, how can they reach you?
Other Add on: I am vision impaired, losing my eyesight to Stargardts, a juvenile hereditary form of macular degeneration. We have lived in Dillsburg for 16 years now.
