Coming up at Martin Library!

As you wait for the leaves to transform into their autumn hues, take part in several fantastic Martin Library fall events! They are happening from the end of September through the beginning of October.

Sistering Author Visit

Saturday, September 30, from 11:00am-12:30pm

Danielle Neff and Jessica Dickey

https://www.yorklibraries.org/event/sistering

Meet the authors of Sistering (published by The Pilgrim Press)! Danielle Neff and her sister Jessica Dickey wrote this book together, exploring all that is wild and wonderful about having a sister. Until recently, Danielle Neff pastored the Mount Zion United Church of Christ right here in York. While she still lives close by, Jessica Dickey is a screenwriter who splits her time between LA and France. We are lucky to get the treat of having both of them in town at the same time! Come enjoy this morning event as they share their book.

TroveStreet: Aging-in-Place Seminar

Monday, October 2, from 10:00am-Noon

https://www.yorklibraries.org/event/trove-street-martin-10-23/

TroveStreet will be giving a seminar at Martin Library covering a topic that affects all of us—living longer and stronger in the place we call home. Whether you are the one facing life changes as your age, or you are the one taking care of an older adult who is facing those life changes, this seminar will provide helpful and encouraging information on a wide range of issues. Issues include finance, to de-cluttering, to health. Don’t miss the follow-up session on October 30th with the Ginnie Kite Group. They will go more in depth on the subject of moving from your home to a living facility.

October First Friday at Martin

Friday, October 6, from 5:00pm-7:00pm

https://www.yorklibraries.org/event/firstfridaymartinoctober/

October’s First Friday at Martin Library will celebrate harvest by featuring local farmer Nathan Riedy of White Clover Family Farm. Nathan will give a lively story time with a few farm-focused pictures. He’ll also be sharing apples and cookies with us from the farm! Round out the evening by painting with vegetables (have you ever rolled a corn cob through paint?) and finding the clues on a vegetable scavenger hunt.

Come to one or come to all—we hope to see you here at Martin Library during these fall events.
