The Dillsburg Area Public Library featured artists for July and August 2023 are Charlotte Yealey and Sharon Benner. Their work will be on display at the library during that time.
CHARLOTTE YEALEY

SHARON BENNER
Sharon Benner‘s painting style has been called “loose and painterly.”
Her subject matter includes somber landscapes of the Gettysburg Battlefield, the beautiful parks in the Susquehanna Valley, and figurative and still life painting. It is her love of plein air painting that has her returning season after season to paint the Gettysburg Battlefield.
The morning mist, fog, snow, or haze of summer are all of particular interest to her, and she paints them with quick strokes of the brush or with heavy impasto paint applied with a palette knife.
Her understanding of color relationships within the landscape creates harmony in her paintings, and her understanding of composition makes for lovely paintings.
Sharon says “the plein air paintings I create reflect my love of color and light on the landscape. I try to show the viewer my feelings and a sense of the peaceful place I’m standing in.”
