CHARLOTTE YEALEY

Charlotte Yealey is a professional artist, and her love for nature shows in each painting.Charlotte Yealey painting: a flying bald eagle carrying a fish

While being raised on a farm in rural Pennsylvania, she grew up surrounded by animals and nature. The York Academy of Arts was a part of her training, along with classes and workshops with various professional artists including Tom Lynch and Claudia Nice.

She has painted pet and people portraits for over 20 years and has taught classes for adults and children. Charlotte co-owned a gallery in Gettysburg with 3 other artists called “The Drawing Room Gallery.” Now, she sells her work online and shows at the Hanover Area Arts Guild and the Carlisle Arts and Learning Center.

SHARON BENNER

Sharon Benner‘s painting style has been called “loose and painterly.” Her subject matter includes somber landscapes of the Gettysburg Battlefield, the beautiful parks in the Susquehanna Valley, and figurative and still life painting. It is her love of plein air painting that has her returning season after season to paint the Gettysburg Battlefield.Sharon Benner painting, forest scene at night The morning mist, fog, snow, or haze of summer are all of particular interest to her, and she paints them with quick strokes of the brush or with heavy impasto paint applied with a palette knife. Her understanding of color relationships within the landscape creates harmony in her paintings, and her understanding of composition makes for lovely paintings. Sharon says “the plein air paintings I create reflect my love of color and light on the landscape. I try to show the viewer my feelings and a sense of the peaceful place I’m standing in.”
