Robert F. Lambert Joins Capital BlueCross Board of Directors

York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert has been elected to serve on the Capital BlueCross Board of Directors. As an independent, community-focused health plan, the board is comprised of individuals who represent a tradition of integrity, philanthropy and service to the community.

Robert F. Lambert

Robert  joins the board with more than 25 years of experience building and driving revenue-generating operations for York County Libraries. He’s shifted the libraries’ perception from a “place to check out books” to an entrepreneurial organization that delivers quality services beyond expectation. Over 50% of York County residents hold library cards and borrow more than 1.6 million items each year.

In addition to his role as president of York County Libraries, Robert is CEO of LibrariesFeed, a nonprofit organization connecting public libraries, donors, and corporations to fight child hunger. He is also Founder of Sir Newton Traders, an education company that provides proprietary software, and market analysis to its members.

Serving the Commonwealth and Community

Robert currently serves as an appointee to the Governor’s Advisory Council for Library Development, the York Traditions Bank Board of Directors, York Academy Regional Charter School Board of Trustees, and the York Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. Most recently, York College of Pennsylvania recognized Robert as a recipient of the 2020 Spartans of the Year Award and the Alumni Board of Directors 2020 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award.

Academic Credentials 

His academic credentials include a Master in Public Administration (MPA) from The Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science in Library and Information Service from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from York College of Pennsylvania. In addition, he graduated from Stanford University’s Executive Education Program in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
