YCL @Home Brain Bonanza

Going crazy? Need to exercise your brain?

We have the perfect activity for you: YCL @Home Brain Bonanza

During this time of home quarantine, join us as we begin the YCL @Home Brain Bonanza. This challenge is for members of all ages. You can do these activities as group or by yourself. Heck, you can even challenge your family members to see who finds answers the fastest. The Brain Bonanza is designed to help you become more familiar with our website and online resources.

While you could Google these questions, don’t! We want you to use our research databases that are designed to provide contextual, validated information instead. We bet you didn’t realize all that is available to you even while our bricks & mortar libraries are closed.  There will be 5 questions a week until this crisis is over for you to have fun exploring our digital resources.

The first Brain Bonanza is April 1-4, 2020, so we choose “Notorious Fools” as the first theme. Watch for questions.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Use YCL digital resources to find the answers!
  2. Take a screen shot showing the answer in a YCL digital resource OR copy/paste the URL to your answer with the name of the resource used.
  3. Email 1 & 2 to [email protected].

We will check your answers and for every correct answer your name will be entered into a drawing that will be held after YCL reopens to the public.

So when does this happen?

Questions run from the morning of Wednesday, April 1st (no joke!) to Saturday, April 4 at 11:59pm, just before midnight.

Answers will be posted Monday, April 6th on our social media (Instagram, Facebook & Twitter).

Where can I find the questions?

They’ll appear as a new post on the YCL News Blog. We’ll post this week’s questions on Wednesday, April 1st.

Where can I find YCL Digital Resources?

The online resources are found under the “What Can I Do?” tab in our website’s menu bar OR you can click here and go to the full listing of all of them.  Heads up, you’ll need to click the “Next” button at the bottom of each page to see more.  We have LOTS of digital resources waiting for you.

You’ll get a new theme and questions for every week we’re quarantined.  Have fun and we’ll see you back here on our blog on Wednesday!
