Thriller Icon Sandra Brown to Appear at Appell Center
Author Headlines YCL’s ‘Beyond the Books’ Benefit Event
YORK, PA – Author Sandra Brown is coming to the Appell Center in York at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 23 for York County Libraries annual “Beyond the Books” event. The evening will feature a dynamic conversation between Brown and moderators Amy Kehm and Brett Thackara, hosts of abc27’s daily lifestyle program, Good Day PA. Proceeds from the evening support York County Libraries’ delivery of books, literacy programs, and resources for all community members.
Brown has published over 80 novels and has upwards of 80 million copies of her books in print worldwide. Her work has been translated into 34 languages. During the evening’s conversation, she will share stories and the lessons she learned along the way to the top of the New York Times bestseller list. She will also sign copies of her March 2026 new release, “Bloodlust,” during a VIP pre-event reception and following her presentation.
“We are looking forward to a lively conversation with Sandra at the Appell Center,” says York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert. “We’ve learned that she doesn’t need to know what questions will be asked in advance. She just goes with the moment to the delight of her audience.”
Brown is the author of 77 New York Times bestsellers, including “Blood Moon,” “Out of Nowhere,” “Overkill,” “Blind Tiger,” “Thick As Thieves,” “Seeing Red,” “Outfox,” “Tailspin,” Sting,” and “Mean Streak.” She holds an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Texas Christian University, where she instituted the Excellence in Literary Fiction, or ELF, a scholarship awarded annually to a creative writing student. She has served as president of Mystery Writers of America, and in 2008 she was named Thriller Master, the top award given by the International Thriller Writer’s Association. Other honors include the Texas Medal of Arts Award for Literature and the Romance Writers of America’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Tickets are on sale now at the Appell Center box office. Regular admission tickets are priced at $52, and VIP tickets cost $155. VIP tickets include admission to a private reception, photo opportunity, and book signing with Brown at 5:00 p.m. With regular or VIP ticket purchase, attendees may choose to purchase a copy of the book for an additional $20, while supplies last. Alternatively, attendees are welcome to bring a copy purchased elsewhere for signing.
