Beyond the Books is returning in 2027! On May 12, another international bestselling author is coming to York, PA.

  • Guess the Author! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for clues about who they may be.
  • Author Reveal: The author’s name will be revealed on November 19, 2026.
  • Tickets on Sale: Tickets will be available for purchase through the Appell Center starting at 12PM noon EST on November 30, 2026.

About the Program

“Beyond the Books” is signature fundraising event featuring renowned authors to benefit York County Libraries. Attendees enjoy a unique opportunity to see their favorite writers and discover the stories behind their works. This series promotes reading and community engagement throughout York County, PA. Proceeds from the evening enable York County Libraries to provide essential services and resources to our community free of charge.

  • Before the event – Private reception for VIP ticketholders & Sponsors
  • 7:00pm – Beyond the Books
  • After Author Talk – Q&A session

Location: The Appell Center for the Performing Arts; Strand Theatre at 50 N. George Street, York, PA 17401.

Ticket Purchasing

Tickets will go on sale through the Appell Center’s box office at noon on November 30*, 2026:

  • Online at appellcenter.org
  • Call 717-846-1111
  • Visit the Appell Center Box Office weekdays from 10:00am – 4:30pm at 50 N. George St. in York, PA.

*A 10% discount will be available for tickets purchased on 11/30 (Cyber Monday). Follow us on social media or subscribe to our email for details.

Ticket Prices

All tickets include entry to the main event and a hand signed copy (a $30 value) of the author’s newest book. Ticket prices are inclusive of all taxes and fees.

  • General Admission: $60 – Entry to the event and a signed copy of the book.
  • VIP Tickets: $100 – Entry to the VIP pre-event reception, the event, and a signed copy of the book.

Signed Books

  • Attendees will receive their complimentary book upon entry to the event.
  • All books will be hand signed in advance.
  • VIP ticketholders also have the option to get their book personalized by submitting a name of their choosing.

VIP Reception

This pre-event reception is truly for the fans! VIP ticketholders and sponsors will be admitted to an exclusive pre-event reception, where they will:

  • Connect with other fans
  • Enjoy fun food
  • Take pictures at several selfie stations
  • Play pop-up trivia
  • and more!

These tickets are limited in quantity and have the best view of the stage—so get yours early!
