Writing Ben Salazar’s Story | Literacy for Change

Photo of Ben Salazar, a volunteer at Martin Library who shared his library story in support of Literacy for Change

When Ben Salazar started volunteering in the Teen department at Martin Library, he wasn’t sure how would best help the library—but he arrived with a can-do attitude. When he was asked to assist with the BeatWay Studio DJ program, he didn’t know much about DJing himself. But that didn’t stop him. Watch the video below to hear how his time spent volunteering affected his own life!

Your support of Literacy for Change – YCL’s 24-Hour Day of Giving on October 10 – not only allows the library to provide programs to youth and teens. It also allows us to provide opportunities of self-discovery to our staff, volunteers, and visitors!
