Family Place

Family Place Workshops encourages growth through play and interaction.

Over a 5-week period, children ages birth to 5* years and their grown-ups are given the opportunity to play with each other in a comfortable, supportive environment. Small group size means that kids can make friends with each other (parents, too!)

While the kids play and learn, parents and caregivers have the chance to speak with developmental specialists from the community. Parents can discuss the latest childrearing topics, ask questions of the specialists, and even get suggestions or referrals for any concerns about their child’s development. These sessions are offered for free. Registration is generally required.

Family Place Workshop sessions are held throughout the year at Martin Library (York), Guthrie Memorial Library (Hanover), Kreutz Creek Library (Hellam) and Red Land Community Library (Etters). These libraries also welcome families for Family Place events that are not part of a Workshop series.
