Pennsylvania Income Tax Forms & Instructions

PA Taxes can be filed at the same time as your Federal taxes by using myPATH or a free online e-File service.

York/Adams Local Income Tax Forms & Instructions

York/Adams tax forms are available. Local tax returns are due by midnight, April 15, 2026.

As of the 2024 tax filing period, the York/Adams Tax Bureau has moved to using one tax return form for ALL years; filers will need to be sure to enter the correct tax year in the appropriate box.

Tax Preparation Assistance in York County

Need help figuring out what form to use? How to calculate deductions? Need someone to do your taxes? You may be able to get free or inexpensive tax filing assistance with the AARP Tax-Aide or Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs. Prior appointments are required.

AARP Tax-Aide Program & VITA Assistance

Free tax preparation assistance is available through the AARP Tax-Aide Program and VITA assistance.

  • AARP Tax-Aide Appointments are open to all ages, but especially those aged 50+. AARP membership is not required.
    • AARP will start setting appointments on January 12, 2026.
  • VITA is a program that offers free tax help to individuals making $45,000 or less, or families who make $65,000 or less in the last tax year; those with disabilities; or those who are limited speaking in the English language. The Volunteers at VITA provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to those individuals who qualify.
    • United Way – York County will start setting VITA appointments on January 26, 2026.

AARP Tax-Aide: What you need to know

Be sure to bring along a valid photo ID and proof of Social Security/ITIN number for anyone on the tax return, including dependents. If you want direct deposit of any refunds or payments, bring a voided bank check. Bringing last year’s tax return may help, also!

AARP Tax-Aide volunteers can prepare most personal income tax returns, including those with basic self-employment income. They are not trained to do business returns such as corporate, partnership, limited partnership, farm income, or rental income.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

VITA offers free tax help to individuals making $45,000 or less, or families who make $65,000 or less in the last tax year; those with disabilities; or those who are limited speaking in the English language. The Volunteers at VITA provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to those individuals who qualify.

You can apply for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) in-person using the services of an IRS-authorized Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA). You may contact one of the following IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance partners listed below to schedule an appointment for CAA services.
