Dillsburg Library Sets 2026 SummerQuest Programs

This summer, the Dillsburg Area Public Library is inviting the community to explore their curiosity and keep their minds active through the annual Summer Quest program. Joining libraries across York County and the nation, Dillsburg’s “Unearth A Story” initiative offers a season-long celebration of reading and learning.

From June 1 through August 16, children and teens can earn prizes donated by local and county-wide businesses by logging their reading minutes and completing various activities. Adults are also encouraged to join the fun by also logging minutes and activities. In addition, the Dillsburg Library will also have a dedicated adult reading challenge; challenge sheets will be available for pickup at the library starting June 1.

The library has scheduled an exceptional lineup of free activities for children, with highlights including:

July 7 @ 10:30am – PHREDD the One-Man Band

July 16 @ 10:30am – Barry Rivers, Bubble Magician

July 21 @ 10:30am – The Bug Man

August 11 @ 10:30am – Magician Mike Rose and Picnic

For those who love adventure, the GO York! walking and hiking challenge returns this year. Participants are encouraged to explore parks and trails throughout York County to locate 30 secret codes for a chance to win prizes. Full details can be found at goyork.org.

“Summer is always something we look forward to,” said Library Director Keith Greenawalt. “I think our community will find this year’s program to be exceptional.”

To participate in the Summer Quest reading program and be eligible for prizes, a valid York County Libraries card is required. Families can register and log their progress through the Beanstack app or by visiting yorklibraries.org/summerquest. While all children’s programs are free to the public, some events may require advanced registration. For a full schedule of events and to register, visit events.yorklibraries.org and select “Dillsburg.”
