Every contribution makes a big difference!

Now more than ever, libraries matter! When you make a donation to your local library, you’re supporting literacy initiatives for all ages, access to crucial resources such as computers, Wi-Fi, and Internet access, circulation of the latest bestsellers and favorite classics, and so much more. Besides the resources they offer, libraries give people a welcoming place to learn, explore, and grow.

Local dollars support local libraries

A common misconception about library funding is that the government fully funds public libraries. While libraries do receive state and local funds, the amount is not guaranteed—and it’s not enough to support day-to-day operations. (You can learn a little more about library funding, as well as how libraries improve their local communities, here.)

Donations from individuals supply most of the funds which allow libraries to operate. These donations from individuals like you allow us to build our collections, expand our existing programs, innovate new and interesting events, and help those who are in most need.

Contribute today

Thank you for supporting your local libraries! And remember: donations made by December 31, 2024 are tax-deductible on your 2024 tax return. (Don’t forget to ask your employer if they match charitable donations!)
