About the Artist
Susan Korsnick has been a glass engraver, screen printer, graphic designer, pattern designer, and fine artist. Susan has displayed her work in both group shows as well as solo exhibits across York County.
Two of her works have raised money for animals affected by the acts of humans—namely, the rehabilitation of sea turtles after the BP oil disaster and healthcare for koalas after a major Australian brush fire.
Susan is inspired by things that touch her on a soul level—the beauty of nature, cultures around the world, and artists who portray the energy of their subject rather than the “reality” they see before them. Henri Matisse, Hildegard of Bingen, and the writings of Rumi speak to her heart. “Inspiration isn’t ‘what’s out there’, it’s the way an artist looks at the world with their heart and their mind.”
Artistic focus
Currently, Susan’s creative expression is focused on three things:
- Emotionally expressive works on paper using mixed media
- Fun and informative events for teens
- Redesigning her back yard to be a welcoming sanctuary for friends and all living creatures.
Susan’s paintings pair well with anything by Rumi—try this book in Martin’s collection to start:
