2024 Reading Journey Celebration
Each year, York County Libraries celebrates the joy of reading with our young library members through the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Our focus is to encourage children and families to read together and maintain a love for reading and libraries.
On March 2nd we did just that. We welcomed 75 library members from across the county (and their families!) to our annual Reading Journey Celebration. In 2024, it was held at the Village Library in Jacobus. This celebration included a guest storyteller, Ashley Zimmerman, Executive Director of Northern Central Railway! We also had fun with children’s music by Mark DeRose Music. The children and their families were able to participate in the story, music, and crafts. They explored the library with a scavenger hunt, and (of course) checked out lots of books!
