The Friends of the Dillsburg Area Public Library will soon hold their annual spring book sale fundraiser. The sale begins at 9am on Saturday, April 20 and will continue during regular library hours until close on April 27. You’ll find more than books at our sale! DVDs, CD audiobooks, and puzzles will also be available.
From April 20-26, children’s items will be marked at $.50 each or 3 for $1, while adult items are $1 each or 6 for $5. Come early for the best selection! On April 27, the final day, we’ll have the always popular fill-a-bag-for-$5 day.
The sale will take place at the Dillsburg Area Public Library, located at 204 Mumper Lane in Dillsburg (just off of U.S. Route 15).
Support Your Library
The Friends group holds two annual sales to benefit the library and its many varied programs and services. In addition to the spring sale, a second sale will take place in late September. In 2023, the two sales netted over a combined $5,800 in much-needed financial support.
“Given rapidly rising costs and flat government funding, we rely increasingly on fundraisers like the book sales to be able to deliver the greatly needed services that we provide the northern York County community,’ says Library Director Keith Greenawalt. “We haven’t seen an appreciable increase in local government funding in more than a decade, so we have to fundraise over half of our annual income. The Friends of the Library do a great job in filling a gap.”
Used book sales are a great way to recycle books into the community, while raising funds for the library. With thousands of books for the offering, there will be something for every reading taste.
Donations now being accepted
The Friends will be accepting donations of gently used books, DVDs, CD audiobooks, and puzzles from March 19 through April 13 during regular library hours.
What can’t we accept? Items that are in poor or musty condition will not be accepted. Music CDs, older textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, and Readers Digest condensed books will also not be accepted.

Library hours are Monday through Thursday from 10am to 8pm, Friday from 10am to 3pm, and Saturday from 10am to 5pm. The library will open at 9am for the first Saturday of the sale.
