Martin Library to Host Co-Authors of “Sistering”
YORK, PA – Martin Library will host authors Jessica Dickey and Danielle Neff at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30 in the library’s Quiet Reading Room. The duo are sisters and co-authors of the book “Sistering: The Art of Holding Close and Letting Go.” They will read excerpts, answer audience questions, and sign books during the free event. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and autograph.
Just released in May 2023, “Sistering” has received praise from sister-actors Ashley Williams and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, actors Ginnifer Goodwin and Griffin Matthews, and author Carol Lee Flinders, Ph.D. According to The Penguin Press, the book is written with honesty, laughter, adoration (and a few choice words) by sisters looking together at their lives, their voices, and the love that shapes them.
Dickey writes for the theater, television, and film, dividing her time between Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and the south of France. Neff served as pastor at Mount Zion United Church of Christ in York for over a decade. She lives and works in Pennsylvania.
“With Jessica normally thousands of miles away, this event offers a wonderful opportunity to hear both Jessica and Danielle talk about their book and their lives as sisters,” says Martin Library Director Mina Edmondson. “We’re excited this event came together. As a library, we try to support local authors, connect them with readers, and celebrate the unique stories they have to share.”
Martin Library is located at 159 E. Market Street in York, Pennsylvania. Serving the community since 1935, it is one of York County’s oldest libraries and is a branch of York County Libraries. Martin Library is recognized as a PA Forward Gold Star library for its outstanding provision of programs and resources to community members. Martin Library also holds the distinguished honor of being the first library to receive the Library of the Year Award from the Pennsylvania Library Association.
