Starting a Business: Learn from the Experts and See If You Have the “Right Stuff”

Is this you? Are you thinking about starting a business? Are you interested in listening and talking with an expert? Perhaps you aren’t quite sure that you want to plunge into starting a business?  If you’re a little bit curious at this point, you may want to explore the possibility of turning your ideas, skills, and experience into a money-making enterprise.  We have an introductory class that will help you learn if you have the “right stuff” for starting a business. If this sounds interesting, join us Saturday, February 22, 2020 for “What is an entrepreneur?”, an introductory small business workshop. It will be held in Martin Library’s Bill Simpson room from 10:30-12:00. Invite family or friends to come with you and explore the possibilities.

Whether you are considering a small business or need assistance with your current business venture, you may benefit from our upcoming series of four workshops at Martin Library in March. The workshops are Wednesdays 5:30 PM to 6:45 PM. Each workshop will feature different experts who will discuss important key factors to starting a business. Imagine having the opportunity to learn from people who have the experience to tell you what you need to know. It’s a FREE service of Martin Library and Susquehanna SCORE.

The scheduled workshops and key topics are:

Wednesday, March 4: Banking and Credit

Wednesday, March 11: Accounting, Bookkeeping, QuickBooks

Wednesday, March 18: Insurance and Minimizing Risk

Wednesday, March 25: Business Law and Intellectual Property

Hold it! Maybe this is too much too soon. Do not worry: this workshop will be offered three more times throughout the year.

In summary:

  • Saturday, February 22: What does it take to start a small business? 10:30–12:00
  • Each Wednesday in March: Four Keys to a Successful Startup Workshop, 5:30-6:45.
