Information Services, What Does that Mean?

The Information Services department is located on the second floor of Martin Library. It houses non-fiction materials, as well as the adult computer labs. Have a question? Not sure where to start?  This is the place!

Do you need to use a computer to apply for a job, do research or keep in touch with family and friends? The Information Services department has 27 computers and a quick use lab available to adult members with a library card. Make yourself comfortable in the seating area where you can access free Wi-Fi. Our computers are able to print in both color and black and white for $0.25 per page. We also provide a copier, fax services, and out-of-area computer passes for a small fee.

If you need a quiet place to study, the Information Services department offers two quiet study rooms, stop by or give us a call for more details. (More quiet space is available on the main floor in the Quiet Reading Room.)

The nonfiction collection includes interesting topics such as biographies, home improvement, crafts, science, and history. Make sure you check out our AquÍ Tu Lugar collection consisting of Spanish language materials for children and adults. We shelve these materials to make it easier to browse by your interests. Love cookbooks?  Search in the Home area. On a diet? Browse the Health and Wellness shelves.

We also provide an assortment of popular magazines and periodicals including Vogue, Consumer Reports, People, and Value Line. Newspapers are available, too.  The York Daily Record and York Dispatch are delivered daily. Weekly materials are delivered as well, specifically the Wall Street Business Journal and El Hispano. Can’t find what you are looking for? We may be able to request another library to loan the item for your use.

And of course, we can introduce you to tools for all your research needs. Call or visit Information Services for these services and more! 717-849-6926
