Sensory-Friendly Literacy Class

This award-winning* program is designed to engage children ages 18 months to 5 years old through the use of story, music and movement. It includes a safe and non-judgmental environment, a schedule board for following along, flannel board stories, interactive book-based experiences, gentle music, playtime and socialization for the whole family. This program is facilited by Miss Gina, the Youth Services Coordinator, and Miss Liz, a pediatric occupational therapist with Early Intervention. Space is limited to 10 children. Registration is required. 

This program won the Carolyn L. Smith Best Practices Award at the 2017 Pennsylvania Library Association annual conference. This program was recognized for its excellence and innovation.
