Volunteer Spotlight: Bonnie

Bonnie Zimmerman has been a volunteer at the Dillsburg Area Public Library for eleven years. She grew up in Williams Grove and graduated from Cumberland Valley High School. She is the mother of two sons and is retired from Highmark where she worked as a statistician. After residing in Dillsburg for 40 years she recently moved to Carlisle. In addition to volunteering at the library, Bonnie also volunteers at the Project Share food bank in Carlisle and at the Carlisle hospital. Her favorite thing about volunteering is meeting new people.

An avid traveler, Bonnie has cruised the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and the Panama Canal. She has visited Alaska, Hawaii, Central America and Mexico. When she’s not traveling or volunteering, she loves attending local carnivals and fairs and playing bingo and cards.

There are lots of volunteer opportunities at the library! Whether you staff the front desk or work behind the scenes, volunteering at the library is a great way to meet new people and give back to your community. Stop by for a volunteer application today!
