Too Many Books? There is No Such Thing.

If you are like me, just as there is no such thing as ’too many books’, there is always room in my day to visit another website about books! I have a new one for you: BookBrowse.

I recently discovered this site (thank you Glatfelter Memorial Library) and appreciate several aspects. My favorite is the Read-Alikes but I also enjoy the Review, Book Discussions and What’s New sections. I visit this site to help with library purchases and reader’s advisory and personal selections.

Don’t forget that we love book recommendations for purchase requests – it helps us fill our shelves with books that OUR readers at Collinsville would like to read.

While this site offers for fee subscription options, ($10 for 3 months or $35 for 1 year), I have been able to look around, read, investigate and request emails. I may treat myself to a membership – it is that nice of a site.

It did not surprise me to find Rosamunde Pilcher, Elizabeth Berg and Maeve Binchy pooled together as Read-Alike authors – 3 of my favorites. When I looked up A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson, I was able to add The Oregon Trail by Rinker Buck and The Great Northern Express by Howard Mosher to my “read soon’ list.

What book will you look for first?
