Using Lists

From our online integrated library system SPARK, you have access to manage and use your library account in a variety of ways. With features such as item lists, holds, and baskets, you can personalize the way you manage your library materials! 

What is a list?

A list is a personal collection of library items created by the user. Lists allow users to save items for accessing later without fear of losing the title, author, etc.

How to Access your Lists

  • Log in to your account.
    • By default, your username is the same as your library card number.
      • If your username has previously been changed, try using your library card number first.
      • If you are unable to log in, contact your library to reset your settings.
    • Your password will likely be the last 4 digits of your library card.
  • After logging in, click on the “My Lists” button in the top-right corner:

How to Create a List

  • On the “My Lists” page, you can create a new list or view all your current lists:

  • Under the “Create New List” section, you will:
    • Give your new list a name
    • Add an optional description of your list
    • Select if you want your list to be shared
      • Shared lists will be visible to others. You may view your list publicly by selecting the “HTML View” button beside the name of the list.
  • Click “submit” to save your list

List Options

Once a list is created, you have several options to manage your lists:

  • Share/Hide: If the list is shared publicly, you can “Hide” the list. Choose “Share” to make the list public.
  • Delete List: Removes the list and all its contents from your account.
  • Download CSV: Download a spreadsheet of your list of items. CSVs include author, title, item barcode, library information, etc.
  • Make Default List: Select this to easily add new items to a specific list of your choice.
  • HTML View: This link shows the public view of your shared list.

How to Add Items to a List

After you’ve set up a list, adding items to a list is simple!

  • Search the catalog to find the book, movie, or other material you wish to add to the list.
  • Hover your mouse over the “Add to My List” button to see your available lists.
  • Click on the name of the list you want to add the item to.

Managing Items in a List

From the “My Lists” page, you will find all your lists. After clicking on a list name, your items will be displayed.

Click the checkbox beside the item’s title to select it. Once selected, you can click the drop-down menu titled “Actions for these Items” to:

  • Place a hold on the item(s)
  • Print title details
  • Email title details
  • Remove from the list
