Online Library Services Expanded

York County Libraries are expanding delivery of online library services to meet member needs while our physical locations remain closed.  The Office of Commonwealth Libraries has instructed all Pennsylvania libraries to stay closed until further notice to help flatten the curve of COVID-19.  This is consistent with Governor Wolf’s directive that K-12 schools stay closed indefinitely.

Although our physical doors are temporarily closed, we are here for you.  We have staff members working remotely to assure that York County residents have access to the library services they need through our website and social media. – York County Libraries President Robert F. Lambert

Keep Borrowed Materials at Home

All physical library materials currently checked out through York County Libraries have been renewed until May 27.  Fines will not be assessed during the time of closure.  Members are asked to hold onto borrowed materials and book donations until the libraries reopen.

Take the YCL @Home Brain Bonanza Challenge

Yearround, libraries offer extensive databases and resources for school projects, research and personal learning.  With community members looking for interesting things to do at home, our information services professionals created the YCL @Home Brain Bonanza.  It is for all ages and kicks off April 1 here on the YCL News blog with five themed questions about Notorious Fools. This is a challenge that can be done as a group, individually, or as a challenge among family members to see who can find the answers the fastest.  New questions will go up weekly.

Join Us for Digital Story Times

Youth services staff members are launching digital story times starting Friday, April 3 at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on York County Libraries Facebook.  Your favorite storytellers from our libraries across the county will share books, finger plays, songs, and more!  Each week’s story times will also be posted here on the YCL News blog!
