As we get closer to our Axis 360 launch date it’s time to talk about content.  By now I’m sure you noticed the lack of new titles in OverDrive.  We discontinued purchasing in OverDrive at the beginning of March.  You’ll soon find those new eBook and eAudio titles available in Axis 360.

Majority of Content will Transfer

On June 1, we expect the majority of our content will migrate to our Axis 360 platform, but some titles may disappear due to restrictions placed by the publishers. We’ll determine on a case-by-case basis whether we will repurchase a title in Axis 360. One thing that will not migrate from Axis 360 are your holds. We thought that it would be an easy process to automatically move your holds from one platform to another, but it turns out you need to have an account to have holds! We’re sorry for that inconvenience.

Axis 360 Enables You to Place Holds Early for Best Sellers

Axis 360 offers librarians a large selection of eBook and eAudio titles for adults, kids and teens to order. York County Libraries currently buys our print books from the same company! That relationship has allowed us to set up an order plan that will automatically order selected best sellers – books and audios – and make them available early for you to place a hold. Our staff members are currently being trained so we’ll be ready to help you set up your accounts and begin checking out content and placing your holds when we go live on June 1. Stay turned for updates.
