Ways of Giving:

In 1833 the first public library in the United States boasted a radical concept: everyone— regardless of class or economic background— had a right to access community-stored knowledge. Today the public library has grown to become more than the sum of its parts: it's the place where ideas, information and individuals come together around shared stages of life.  At York County Libraries, we empower our patrons to learn and grow together.

Unlike libraries in many states which are supported primarily by government funding, libraries in York County depend significantly on individual, corporate and foundation donations in addition to government funding. Please consider supporting your community library with a tax-deductible donation today!

Honor/Memorial Gifts

A gift in honor/memory of someone you love is a meaningful way to pay tribute to a person, group, occasion or milestone.

A donation of $35 or more will place a book in the York County Libraries collection in honor or memory of someone special in your life.

Library staff will select books that complement our collections and match donor intent. Items selected will bear a bookplate in the tribute's name.

The library will acknowledge your gifts should you provide notification information.

Please print and mail this Form to your designated library.

Matching Gifts

Corporate matching gifts are a great way for library supporters to make their donation go even further.

By taking advantage of a company's matching gift benefit, you may be able to double or even triple the amount of your donation!

How do I match my gift?

Each company has its own guidelines for employees, spouses, retirees, and widows/widowers.

·         Talk with your Community Outreach/Store Manager to see if your company matches employee gifts

·         Request a matching form from your company

·         York County Libraries will verify the completed form and return it to the company

·         The company issues a matching gift contribution to your library
