Street Lit, Hip-Hop, Reading and Writing at Martin Library
National
Library Week Exclusive Program
- Martin Library explores the world of Urban Fiction, an
emerging genre that has exploded onto the literary scene. These

bookstores.

week-long series of programs exploring the role and the value of
urban stories in the lives of young people. In addition to the
featured speakers, events include “Your Voice,” a student spoken
word, hip-hop contest and an open mic night for performers.
An Evening with

one of the most renowned contemporary writers in the
African-American community.
This free, ticketed event includes live jazz of the Tim Warfield
