Colette Elyse Painting of a nuthatch

Collette ElyseYork resident Colette Elyse  began painting  around age 10, after receiving  brushes and acrylics from her father.  She studied art throughout high school and continued to take classes at the college level.  In addition to classes through York Art Association, she enjoys watching and talking with other artists to learn about new styles and techniques.

Colette Elyse’s work reflects beauty and happiness in her paintings through three different mediums.  She uses the brightness of watercolor, the texture of oil pastels, and enjoys the traditional look of acrylics.  She enjoys nature themes, and often paints from her own photographs.

With a father and grandmother who were also artists, Colette has been surrounded by art most of her life.  She is a mother of four children, and finds inspiration in them as well.
