York City residents living in the Salem Square neighborhood will soon have easy access to library services when a new community library opens at 596 West Princess Street in Spring 2017. Its name will be selected from entries submitted by local school children in a "name the library" contest sponsored by the Salem Square Community Association. The library will feature bilingual story times, afterschool programs, guidance for job seekers, and access to the entire collection of York County Libraries' books and resources.

York County Libraries President, Robert F. Lambert and Director of Development,

Laura O'Grady accepted a three-year $100,000 York County Community Foundation grant

for a workforce development program at the new Salem Square location.
