Who We Are

We are the partnership between the York Housing Authority and Martin Library to offer library services and a state-of-the-art computer lab to individuals and families in housing programs.

Martin Library and the York Housing Authority are committed to excellence in service by providing access to informational, intellectual and recreational resources. Together... through the collaboration of Martin Library and the York Housing Authority, the Jefferson Center serves to provide information in a timely fashion to residents of the York Housing Authority.

Who Can Use This Facility

The computer lab is open to the public housing and Section 8 residents of The York Housing Authority.

What We Provide

The Jefferson Resource Center provides:

• High speed Internet access

• A non-circulating collection of books covering a variety of topics.  These include:
  
  How to create a resume
  
  How to have a successful interview
  
  Job and life skills

• A computerized catalog of thousands of books

• Software including:
  
  Microsoft Office
  
  Mavis Beacon (learn-to-type program)
  
  Rosetta Stone (learn to speak English, for Spanish-speakers)

• Educational programs for children and youth

• Color and laser printing

• Online databases including:
  
  General magazines
  
  Newspaper articles
  
  Business magazines
  
  Health information
  
  Encyclopedias
  
  Children's magazines and more...
