And even more details...

June 6th is the first of three "Free Ride Friday" events slated this summer, with additional promotions planned for July 11 and August 1.   Library cardholders may each receive a maximum of one free pass on each of the three "Free Ride Friday" dates, and then can use the passes when convenient.

rabbittransit originally contacted Martin Library to explore ways to partner together to further maximize public investment  and let library cardholders know about bus services.  As a result, staff from the bus company now visits the library once a month to answer customer questions.    "As we talked, we found out that many of our libraries have bus service available.   So the county wide ‘Free Ride Friday' was created!" says York County Libraries Marketing Director Stacy Bankert.  rabbittransit makes direct connections to five of the libraries including Martin Library at Market Street (Route 1E), Martin Library at the Art Institute (Route 1E), Kreutz Creek Library (Route 12), Glatfelter Memorial Library (Route 16) and Guthrie Memorial Library (Route 20N and 22N).   Through this project, information about library services is now highlighted inside busses; providing an "opportunity for us is to reach an audience that may not know about all of the resources we have available," adds Bankert.

"rabbittransit is excited to partner with the York County Library System," comments rabbittransit Executive Director Richard Farr.  "At rabbittransit we strive to help improve our customers' quality of life.  Reading and participating in library programs offers that enriching experience that we can connect people to.   We encourage York County residents to get out this summer and participate in our program."

Since it is closed on Fridays, the Arthur Hufnagel Public Library of Glen Rock is the only location unable to participate.  However, Martin Library at the Art Institute of York is open, so there will be 13 library locations open for "Free Ride Friday".
