We'll keep you "in stitches" on Tuesdays from 6 - 7:45pm. To learn to knit or crochet, bring a size J hook or #9 needles, a pair of scissors, a blunt tip yarn needle, and a skein of solid, light color medium weight (#4) yarn for practice. You can also bring a work in progress to sit and stitch.

The group will also be knitting and crocheting items to donate to SOAR. This local organization sends your items overseas to our soldiers, who give them to the local children where they are stationed. We will also accept purchased items.

Learn to Knit for Ages 10 years and Up

This six-week program is for students (ages 10 years and up) who would like to learn how to knit. Each session will feature a new skill to learn and some homework will be given. At the end of the program particpants will know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, make a gauge swatch and read a simple pattern. Participants are asked to bring size US 8 needles and solid, light-colored worsted weight yarn (pleae do not bring specialty yarns). Registration is required as this program is limited to ten particpants.

Knitting Group

We'll keep you "in stitches" on Tuesdays from 6 - 7:45pm. To learn to knit or crochet, bring a size J hook or #9 needles, a pair of scissors, a blunt tip yarn needle, and a skein of solid, light color medium weight (#4) yarn for practice. You can also bring a work in progress to sit and stitch.

The group will also be knitting and crocheting items to donate to SOAR. This local organization sends your items overseas to our soldiers, who give them to the local children where they are stationed. We will also accept purchased items.

HOLIDAY HOME TOUR, WINTER FAIR & BASKET AUCTION

A Holiday Home Tour and Winter Fair to benefit Collinsville Community Library will be held on Saturday, December 5th from noon until 5 p.m. Tickets for the home tour are available at the library in advance for $6 per person and on December 5th for $8. Details of the three distinctive homes and area church are at the library.

The Winter Fair will be held at Clearview Elementary School cafeteria. The Fair will offer soups, potpie, chili, and sandwiches to eat in or take out. Activities include Pampered Chef and scrapbooking demonstrations, crafts for sale, and the Collinsville Library’s big book sale.

The basket auction will take final bids at 5 p.m.at the school. The baskets will be on display at the library between now and the Winter Fair. Residents are invited to join in the fun of bidding on the beautifully-filled baskets that were created and donated by area businesses and organizations.

Also included in the auction is a circular shawl. This unique, one-of-a-kind design created by the Purls of Brogue knitters, whose members meet weekly on Tuesday evenings at the library.

The Holiday Home Tour, Winter Fair, and Basket Auction are sponsored by the Friends of the Collinsville Library. Please call 927-9014 or stop by the library for more information.

We'll keep you "in stitches" on Tuesdays from 6 - 7:45pm. To learn to knit or crochet, bring a size J hook or #9 needles, a pair of scissors, a blunt tip yarn needle, and a skein of solid, light color medium weight (#4) yarn for practice. You can also bring a work in progress to sit and stitch.

The group will also be knitting and crocheting items to donate to SOAR. This local organization sends your items overseas to our soldiers, who give them to the local children where they are stationed. We will also accept purchased items.

Learn to Knit for Ages 10 years and Up

This six-week program is for students (ages 10 years and up) who would like to learn how to knit. Each session will feature a new skill to learn and some homework will be given. At the end of the program particpants will know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, make a gauge swatch and read a simple pattern. Participants are asked to bring size US 8 needles and solid, light-colored worsted weight yarn (pleae do not bring specialty yarns). Registration is required as this program is limited to ten particpants.

The group will also be knitting and crocheting items to donate to SOAR. This local organization sends your items overseas to our soldiers, who give them to the local children where they are stationed. We will also accept purchased items.
