Introduction to Access

Microsoft Access is a powerful database management program that helps you collect, organize, integrate, and analyze data. This class, for the novice Access user, will include:

  • Creating and opening a database

  • Creating a data table with the wizard

  • Creating a data table from scratch in datasheet view

  • Using a data form

  • Manipulating a table

  • Redesigning a table

  • Sorting

  • Filtering

  • Finding data

  • Creating reports

Two 3-hour sessions. Cost: $100. Seniors: $60.

Intermediate Access

In this class, you will move beyond the basics to Access’s advanced functions. These include:

  • Constructing advanced queries

  • Customizing forms by the addition of combo boxes, option groups, and command buttons

  • Customizing reports by the use of calculated controls and the page setup dialog box

  • Using database utilities to convert, compact, and split your database

  • Creating and running a macro and a macro group

Two 3-hour sessions. Cost: $100. Seniors: $60.
