The Family Place at
Martin Library
This program consists of five free workshops that
give parents and caregivers the opportunity to play
with their children (from birth to age three) and
interact with their peers in a supportive
environment.
Registration is required.
We also have a
special collection of books and other materials
for families and children.

Business and Copy
Center
The library has a self-serve
photocopier for public use. Copies are $.25 per
page.
We also provide fax services at
a cost of $.50 per incoming page and $1.00 per
outgoing page. There is no additional charge
for long distance.

Window Displays
Non-Profit organizations may promote their services
and activities by reserving window space at the

The Foundation Center
has a collection of materials and computer
resources used for grant writing and identifying
funding opportunities. The center is a
collaboration of local-non-profit organizations and
private foundations. Membership is required. |

Teacher Cards
Teachers and homeschooling parents may apply for a
teacher’s card that provides for a six-week
check-out period. For an annual fee you may obtain a
subscription teacher card that provides you with
additional services.

for teachers. |

Adult and Juvenile Collections
We have over 145,000 items in various formats,
including newspapers
and a large selection of
magazines. |

Family Place
Collection
Titles for parents of children birth through 3
years-of-age. Many of these titles are also
appropriate for librarians or early childhood
educators.
Topics include child development, developing early
literacy, early learning, language activities,
crafts, songs, finger plays, child care, and
parenting. Includes some videos and a sampling of picture books for parents to
share with children.

Parent Teacher
Collection
Titles for parents and teachers of children aged 4
and up. Many of these titles are also appropriate
for librarians.
Topics include reading and literature for young
children, home schooling, child care and parenting,
preschool and primary education, storytelling,
crafts, games, science activities, health, mental
health, and conditions such as dyslexia, autism,
deafness. There is a small reference collection
mostly on children’s literature.

Computer Labs
We offer free Internet Access and Microsoft
applications at three different locations within the
library. We
also have high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the
building. CDs, DVDs, thumb drives, and other external
media may be used with our computers.
Printing is $.25 per page for black and
white or color printouts. Regretfully, we cannot allow installation of any
programs on library computers.
