Our 40,000 monthly visitors come for many different reasons, including education, recreation, and often both.  Every dollar of your donation enriches the lives of those we serve.  There are several ways that you can support Martin Library.

Annual Book Campaign
Gifts given through the Annual Book Campaign strengthen our first-rate community resource center, by providing an outstanding collection of books, materials and technology.  Dollars are used to purchase new books, audio books, and DVDs.check presentation

Corporate Sponsorship – Includes giving opportunities for both small and large businesses.  Eligible businesses may receive tax credits for their gifts to Martin Library through the PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).

Friends of Martin Library Programming FundContributions to this fund enable the Library to create, implement and continue our free, programming innovations attracting new visitors and serving our monthly patrons.  Gifts to this fund make programming for people of all ages possible, including (but not limited to) the Summer Reading Club and The Family Place for children, the Youth Empowerment Summit and Teen Job Training Program for young adults, and the GO! series and One Book, One Community events for adults.

Planned Gifts – Nearly one hundred years ago Milton D. Martin made a planned gift, a library for all the people of York.  Others followed his lead.  And in just the same way, your generosity can live on – through a bequest by will or planned gift.

Martin Library Honors Program – Since 1995, the Martin Library Honors Committee has recognized 21 individuals for their dedication to the Library and to the York Community.  The income from these programs is used to purchase new books for our collections each year.  The Honors Fund for each of these individuals remains open for contributions in perpetuity.

Honor & Memorial Gift Book Program
– Contributions to this program enable the library to add materials to the collection in memory or honor of a donor's loved one or to commemorate a special day, such as a birthday or anniversary.  Click here for a giving opportunities interest form.

Stay Smart: The Capital Campaign for Martin Library (Building Fund) – We have met our fundraising goal of $4 million dollars, however there is still an opportunity to help Martin Library offset the dollars set aside by the Board-designated fund for the building campaign. To discuss naming opportunities, please contact the Development Office.

Endowment Fund – Martin Library’s Board of Directors has established a Board-designated Endowment Fund, the monies to be utilized under the decision and guidelines of the Martin Library Association Gift Acceptance Policy. Donors may choose to make a contribution to this fund at any time and in any amount.

General Expenses Fund – Donations are used for general library operating expenses.

In-kind Contributions – Gifts of new or gently used material items, such as books and DVDs, can serve the library well. Please refer to the donating materials page if you have items to donate.
